ON 7 FEBRUARY, WILL YOU RAMP UP THE RED TO HELP FIGHT HEART DISEASE?

You can’t ignore red. It screams “Look at me!” It shouts “Stop right there!” and it doesn’t apologise. That’s why we want you to go as red as you dare on 7 February and join the fight for every heartbeat. Coronary heart disease is the UK’s single biggest killer. This year, we’re asking you to take red to the extreme and ramp it up as far as you possibly can. The redder the better, to show heart disease how determined you are to fight it during Heart Month (February) – for your loved ones and for the many people affected by coronary heart disease.

Organising a Ramp up the Red event is fun, easy and extremely rewarding.

Encourage people to turn up to your event wearing as much red as they like. They can wear red clothes, red make up, eat red food; or even all three. You can be as creative as you want, as long as it’s unmistakably and devilishly red. In return, get everyone who takes part to make a donation to help fund the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) life-saving research. The BHF is the biggest funder of heart research in the UK. We are fighting for everybody who suffers with a heart problem – from babies born with heart defects, to the millions of adults affected by heart disease. We do this through life-saving research. Research that has already made medical history. But we’ve still got a long way to go. That’s why we want you to Ramp up the Red in February. You can help fund life-saving research by getting involved and showing your support.

Help us ramp up our research for Zoe

Zoe was born with two holes in her heart. She was waiting for an operation when one night her mum, Susie, noticed she had turned grey. Terrified, she phoned for an ambulance, and Zoe was rushed to hospital for open-heart surgery. Years ago, Zoe might not have survived. But thanks to the advances we have made in heart research, she is now a happy, thriving toddler. When you Ramp up the Red, you’ll be raising money to fund this research for Zoe, and for the millions of people like her. Even our researchers will be wearing red as they work towards the next breakthrough that could save lives and keep families together.
